A Second Chance~ Summary

Being raised on a ranch, siblings Molly and Zach Sparrow will do anything for an animal in need. So when they find a sick mother dog and her three puppies dumped behind their high school, they leap into action. But as Molly drives to the clinic, someone rams into their car, causing Molly's car to flip over. Zach makes it out with only minor injuries, but the same can't be said for his sister. When Molly wakes up in the hospital a few days later, she is told that her legs were crushed in the accident and had to be amputated and that the dog and her puppies had died in the accident. Believing a life of normality is over and blaming herself for not protecting the dogs, Molly becomes detached from the world. But when she comes home after being released from the hospital, she is surprised when her brother reveals a miracle; one of the puppies miraculously survived the crash and is eager to stay by Molly's side. The pup, a male, shows sign of deeper wolf parentage along with his Husky features, which is confirmed by a vet. Being of Cheyenne heritage, Molly and Zach both decide to call him Kuckunniwi- "little wolf." As time goes on, Kuckunniwi begins to show amazing signs of intelligent, which gives Zach an idea. For two years, Zach reads hundreds of training books and researches several websites, and before long, Kuckunniwi receives his assistant-dog license. Though Molly couldn't be more happy than to finally feel more free in her limited state, the question still haunts her: Who is the one responsible for killing Kuchunniwi's family and crippling her?
