Even Dark-type moves were looked down upon and were immediately forgotten if naturally learned.
That was 10 years ago. Elder Clefable, the oldest resident of Starlight Town, has tried unsuccessfully since then to try and convince the town that not all Dark-types should be hated just because of the act of a few. It wasn't until Kallin arrived that things would begin to change. When Matsuo befriended Kallin, everything finally fell into place and with the help of

Embarr's Princess~ Chapter 2 Part 1"Thank-you, Doctor," a cheerful Serenity said before exiting the white office and closing the door softly behind her. Just outside the office, Joey, Yugi, Tea, and Tristan were sitting on the wooden bench. They all looked at her with smiles and got to their feet.
Joey walked up to his sister first, hopefulness in his eyes. "What'd he say?"
Serenity beamed him a league yet sweet smile. "He said I've improved so much that he believes I don't need to come in again."
"That's great news," Yugi said.
"I think this calls for a celebration," Tea proclaimed, clapping her hands together. "Why don't we all go out for burgers at that new restaurant?"

The Guardian's Duelist Chapter 11 Part 2
Jaden moaned before slowly opening his eyes to find Winged Kuriboh hovering over, looking at him with it's big oval eyes. "Kuriboh?"
Winged Kuriboh closed its eyes and bounced gleefully. "Kuri, kuri," it cried.
Jaden sat up, rubbing his temples to try and clear his head. He tried to recall what had happened. The last thing he remembered was being whisked away by the golden light Professor Banner had created. Then he must have passed out after that. Realizing this, the brunette boy looked at his new surroundings and his heart leaped.
He was sitting on a low hill in a meadow, flowers in every color of the rainbow covering what seemed like miles. The sun was shining brightly in the sky, no clouds in sight. A gentle breeze only slightly rustled the grass and flowers.
Jaden suddenly realized something and turned back to Winged Kuriboh. "Wait; if you have a physical form then that means," He took a second look at where he was. "We're in the Spirit World!"
"Come on, Boss."

But Matsuo was never happy with what he had. Though he had amazing parents and a beautiful home, there was one thing he could never manage to have: a true friend. Though he was quite popular among the young Pokemon in Starlight Town and was seen as a role model, Matsuo felt like his "friendships" had empty meaning.
