The Guardian's Duelist Ch. 7 P-1

A tall, bulky man was sitting in a chair as one of his operatives gave him a overview. The lights were out and the blinds were closed, making the room so dark that only the outline of those in the room could be seen.

"What do you mean 'She escaped'!?" the larger man behind the desk barked.

"I-It's like a said, sir," the assistant stammered. "When her soul energy disappeared, the Darkness immediately responded and ended the storm. But then we picked up her soul signal again further out to sea, on an island; it's weak but we're positive it's hers."

"You fool!" The chairman slammed his hands on his desk, causing his employee to jump in fright. "Her escaping could ruin all our plans. If she manages to pass along the power of the Guardians of Embarr, it will spell disaster for us!"

"I-I apologize, sir, but there is one good thing that came out of this."

"And what would that be?" The boss laced his fingers.

"In that storm, the girl lost her connection with the Guardians of Embarr; she can no longer speak to the Guardians or use their powers," his worker explained.

"Humph, I guess you're not as useless as you look." The leader got up from his chair. "Make preparations for the ritual; I have a package to collect."
