The Guardian's Duelist Ch. 7 P-2

"You're saying 'the' Morgan Halo is here at Duel Academy!?" Professor Crowler asked Bonaparte.

"Oui*," Bonaparte replied with his french accent. "I saw her in earlier today with that flemmard** Jaden Yuki."

*[For those who haven't taken French or speak it, Oui is pronounced "wee"]*
**[Flemmard is french for slacker]

Crowler slammed his fist on his desk. "That Sleifer slacker always seem to find a way to get a hold of the important visitors before I do." He looked at Bonaparte. "How come I didn't hear that Morgan Halo was coming to visit the school?"

"I overheard a little of their conversation, and if what they said was true, then Madame Halo never intended on coming here. I heard that she somehow shipwrecked here during that storm a few days ago."

As this conversation continued, they were unaware that when Crowler had hit his desk, he had turned on the loudspeaker, every word being amplified across the entire school.

[Scenes of students looking up at the loudspeakers during class.]

Syrus and Jaden both looked at each other with shock. "Not good," they said together.

[Scene changes to Duel Academy hallway.]

At first, the hallways were quiet and deserted, but the sound of a stampede of footsteps was soon heard and students stormed down the hallways, looking for Morgan.

Jaden and Syrus scrambled out of the herd and quickly entered the nurse's office before anyone saw.

Inside, Morgan's bed was stripped of its single sheet, unoccupied.

"Morgan?" Jaden whispered.

"Jaden? Is that you?" a soft voice returned.

From the opposite side of the bed, Morgan's head appeared slightly with the bed sheet over her head as a cloak, her ocean-blue eyes filled with fear. When she saw her two companions, she sighed. "As soon as I heard that conversation on the loudspeaker, I hid as quickly as I could."

At the thought, Syrus turned back to the door and hit the off switch for the automatic door.

"Good thinking, Sy," Jaden commented, giving his pal the thumbs up.

But Morgan still seemed unsure. "I can't stay here, they're gonna-" but she was interrupted when there was pounding on the door and she quickly hid again.

"Open up, it's me," Chazz's irritated voice came from the other side of the door.

At the sound of Chazz, Morgan looked over the bed again as Syrus quickly went back to the switch and turned it on, causing the door to slide open and Chazz hurrying inside before the door was shut off again.

"Why am I not surprised that idiot Crowler messed everything up as usual?" Chazz spat with a scowl. He looked at Morgan and loosened his face. "You okay?"

Morgan stood up with the bed sheet still cloaked on her head and wrapped around her body. "I knew it was only a matter of time before I was found out." She looked down and added, "I should have left as soon as I woke up."

Chazz shook his head. "No, you needed rest and it's much safer here."

"More like, it 'was' safer here. Now, no one will stop until they've run me over with autographs and photos." Morgan flinched and clutched her injured shoulder as though her anxiety caused more pain. "Damn," she hissed under her breath.

"Don't worry yourself, Morgan," Jaden reassured. "We'll find a new place to hide you."

"But where, Jay? They'll tear the school apart in order to find her." Syrus argued.

Jaden gave his friend one of his "idea" smiles. "Who said we're gonna hide her in the 'school'? I have a plan, but I'll need you guys to find Ms. Fontaine and Hassleberry."
