"Sir, we're picking up strong energy readings. They seem to be coming from the school."

"So, you've finally made your move. But will it be enough to regain your real memories, Masika?"

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Ladies first," Morgan stated, drawing the first card. She looked at it, added it to the rest of her hand, then pulled out a different card. "I summon Guardian of Embarr, White Spirit, in Defense mode." She placed the card in the Monster zone on her Duel Disk and a mist started to form on the field. The mist rose up in size and formed a ghostly white horse with amber-red eyes. It stomped its front hoof and snorted. A hologram that showed its attack and defense was shown.*

When the monster was on the field, Morgan suddenly felt a wave of energy flow over her body, causing her to tense up in surprise. It was then that her vision went black.

"Take Masika and get out of here," a boy's voice said with authority, the sound of burning wood and the clanging of swords faint in the background.

"No! I'm not leaving you," a voice much like Morgan's replied, but it had a hint of what seemed like an Arabic accent.

As Morgan gazed off into the distance blankly, Jaden and the others seemed to notice the sudden change. But before any of them could say anything, the moment quickly passed and Morgan regained sight, then shook her head to clear it.

"Next, I activate the spell card Guardian Calling," Morgan continued. A card with the picture of a white fox crying up to a clear blue sky in a desert setting appeared on the field. "With this, if I have another Guardian of Embarr on my field, I can Special Summon another Guardian of Embarr monster from my Deck, hand, or Graveyard." She looked through her deck until she found the card she wanted, then shuffled the rest of her deck and placed it back in her Duel Disk. "I Special Summon Guardian of Embarr, Iris The Healer." Again, she placed a card in the Monster zone, but this creature appeared a lot more quickly, and it's statistics appeared.

Jaden and Chazz immediately recognized the monster. The small, cute cherub  monster saw Jaden and gave him a charming wink, causing the brunet to blush.

Morgan felt another wave of energy wash over her, but this time, her vision did not fade. "Lastly, I'm going to equip Guardian's Anklet to White Spirit." There was a glow of gold and a golden anklet appeared around the horse's front-left leg, just above the hoof. As if by reaction, White Spirit's defense points dropped down to 300.

"Why would she activate a card that reduces her own monster's defense points?" Hassleberry commented.

"It probably has another effect that protects White Spirit in some way," Alexis stated.

"Let's just hope Jaden can figure it out," Syrus added.

"I set one card face down and end my turn. Your move, Jaden," Morgan called as a face down card appeared on her side of the field

"Don't mind if I do," Jaden replied and drew. He looked at it, nodded in approval, then placed it with the rest of his hand. "I activate the Spell Card Polymerization to fuse the Elemental Hero Avian with Elemental Hero Burstinatrix that are both in my hand." There was a flash of light as one of Jaden's best monsters took to the field.

At the sight of the Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, the students cheered.

"Jaden sure isn't wasting any time," Alexis remarked, leaning her chin in her cupped right hand.

"Go, Jaden!" Syrus cheered.

"Now, Flame Wingman; attack Guardian of Embarr, Iris the Healer," Jaden called.

His monster charged towards Iris. Iris squealed is fright and cowered in fear. However, just as Flame Wingman was to land the crushing blow, Guardian of Embarr, White Spirit came between the two monsters and a golden sphere of light that surrounded the ghostly horse forced Jaden's creature back to his side of the field.

"Sorry, Jaden," Morgan said with a playful look. "But as long Guardian of Embarr, White Spirit is face-up on the field, all attacks go to him. And since he's equipped with the card Guardian's Anklet, he can't be destroyed in battle."

At the sound of this, Iris's eyes lit up and she giggled. The crowd cheered.

"Quite the combo," Atticus stated, smiling. "Jaden better stay on his toes."

"Well, I guess I'll just place one card face down and end my turn," Jaden said, placing a card in the proper slot of his Duel Disk.

Morgan smiled and drew. "I don't think I'm gonna take any chances with the face down of yours, so I'm gonna activate the Spell Card Mystical Space Typhoon from my hand!"

There was a flash and a tornado appeared, quickly revealing Jaden's face down as Mirror Force and destroying it.

Morgan made a proud smirk. "I thought we agreed we'd give everyone a show they wouldn't forget. You're not going easy on me, are you?"

Jaden couldn't help but groan at the comment. The excitement had gotten to him and he made a sloppy move. Plus, he was worried when Morgan spaced out earlier.

"I promised I wouldn't go easy on you," Morgan continued, "So next I'm getting rid of Guardian's Anklet."

The golden band around White Spirit's was destroyed and the monster's defense points returned to normal.

"This allows me to draw as many cards as the level of the monster it was equipped to. Since White Spirit is a Level 2 monster, I get to draw two cards." Morgan adds the two cards to her hand. "I sacrifice Guardian of Embarr, White Spirit and Guardian of Embarr, Iris the Healer, in order to summon Guardian of Embarr, Royal Protector!"

The ghostly creature and cherub disappeared from the field and a pillar of fire replaced it. The crowd leaned in as they watched the light show as the flames twisted, turned, flipped and tumbled like waves at the ocean or a whirlpool. It only lasted a few heartbeats, and when the wall of fire dispersed, a familiar fox-like creature stood at four feet.

Purple flames tipped Guardian of Embarr, Royal Protector's four majestic tails, which twitched and twirled behind the majestic creature. It's piercing amber eyes held the fire of a fighting spirit. A hologram appeared that showed her stats.

"It's attack points are the same as Jaden's monster," Hassleberry retorted. "If she tries to attack, both of their monsters will be destroyed. What's she thinking?"

"Morgan's a professional," Alexis pointed out. "She obviously has a plan to catch Jaden off guard."

Another wave came over Morgan and her vision once again went black, but this time, she had a vision.

A city was in flames in the distance, a large stretch of desert laid out. The desert air was cool, but even the heat of the fire could be faintly felt on the wind.

"I can't believe it," the voice much like Morgan's said.

"I'm so sorry, My Lady, but there was nothing we could have done," Guardian of Embarr, Royal Protector said.

"We should go; It won't take long for them to realize we escaped."

"Right."

"She's doing it again," Syrus stated.

"Do you think she's alright?" Atticus said.

Jaden tilted his a little to the side in confusion. "Morgan?" He called.

Morgan blinked in surprise and looked at Jaden. "S-Sorry," she answered. She shook her head once more and added, "Royal Protector's effect now activates. For every Guardian of Embarr in my Graveyard, she gains 300 attack points. Since I currently have two in my Graveyard, Royal Protector gains 600 attack points, making her more than powerful enough to wipe the floor of Flame Wingman."

Guardian of Embarr, Royal Protector's ATK raised to 2700 as the purple flame on her tail-tips grew brighter.

"Now atta-" Morgan cut her declare of battle when she felt another large wave of energy. This one, however, caused her eyes to grow wide, then quickly close tight as she pressed her hands against her head and fell to her knees. She moaned as the pain in her head increased and sweat dripped down her brow

Embarr seemed to notice this and looked over her shoulder. "Morgan!" It cried out and rushed over to her master.

The students gasped when they heard the creature speak and started to talk among one another.

Jaden lowered his Duel Disk and hurried over to Morgan. He kneeled beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong, Morgan?"

Chazz suddenly appeared at the opposite side of Morgan with a worried look. "What's the matter?"

"My head… it hurts," Morgan said, pain obvious in her voice.

"Her connection with us is returning, but Corridor's presence is trying to block it," Embarr explained.

Suddenly, all the power in the auditorium went out, bringing total darkness and causing the hologram of Embarr and Flame Wingman to fade. A moment later, though, Embarr reappeared, the flame on her tails giving some light.

Jaden and Chazz were surprised to see Embarr, but not as surprised to see that Morgan had completely collapsed.

Chazz turned Morgan over and brought her into his arms. "Morgan?"

Morgan remained motionless and silent.

The students were starting to freak out even as the staff tried to calm them.

"What's going on, Embarr?" Jaden asked the fox-creature.

Before Embarr could reply, an evil laugh echoed throughout the auditorium, causing several female students to scream.

"It won't be long now," a familiar voice spoke once the laugh stopped.

"Corridor," Embarr hissed.
