The Guardian's Duelist Chapter 7 P. 3

"Are you really okay with me staying here, Chazz?" Morgan asked, sitting on the couch in Chazz's Sleifer Red dorm room.

Chazz, who was sitting not two feet away from Morgan on the couch, tried as hard as he could not to blush and nodded. "Everyone will think you're somewhere in the school, not in the dorms. You'll be safe here."

Morgan, Chazz and Syrus were all standing around in Chazz's dorm room, waiting for Jaden to return. They had listened to Jaden's plan, along with Ms. Fontaine, and managed to get Morgan out of the building by hiding her in a food cart compartment. They successfully got her to the Sleifer dorm undetected. But Ms. Fontaine had to return to the school to handle the mob and Jaden hadn't explained the rest of his plan before he left with Hassleberry to who knows where.

The suspension was starting to become overwhelming, for everyone was starting to show signs of anxiety. Morgan was looking down, shifting on the couch from time to time. Chazz was doing the same, but he occasionally gave Morgan a loving look when he thought no one was looking. Syrus was walking back and forth in front of the couch, obviously worried about Jaden.

It was close to after a hour since they had escaped the mob when they began to hear voices outside. Everyone's eyes lit up as they realized one of the voices no doubt belonged to Jaden.

"Watch the suit; it's a designer's original," a different voice yelled.

"I'll have you expelled for this, Sleifer slacker," another huffed.

Syrus had just opened the door when Crowler and Bonaparte fell into the doorway with a grunt. Just outside, Jaden was standing next to Hassleberry, who was dusting off his hands as though he had been carrying something dirty, a giant and proud smile on his face.

Morgan was about to hide but Chazz reached out and placed his right hand on Morgan's left hand for support. She looked at him and his eyes seemed to tell her that everything was alright and there was no need to hide.

Jaden and Hassleberry walked inside as the two older men began to slowly get up. Morgan and Chazz got their feet, Chazz still holding Morgan's hand for reassurance. Hassleberry went to stand by Syrus and Jaden stood in front of Crowler and Bonaparte, his arms crossed against his chest.

Crowler was the first one to look up and give Jaden an annoyed and furious look. "Why did you bring us out here!? In case you didn't notice, all your fellow classmates are running around the school when they need to be in class, like 'you', and we were trying to handle the situation."

"Why don't you start with apologizing?" Jaden suggested in a strong manner.

"Why do we need to apologize to 'you'?" Bonaparte argued.

"Not him, you blockheads," Chazz stated, bringing Morgan forward. "'Morgan' is the one you need to apologize to."

Crowler and Bonaparte's eyes flew open. Morgan was looking away the entire time with sad eyes and clutching her injured right shoulder with her free hand.

"I-It really is you, Morgan Halo," Crowler stammered.

"We are honored to have such a prestige duelist such as you visit our school," Bonaparte added awkwardly.

Morgan turned back and decided that these men did not mean to reveal her presence to the whole school. "Thank you, and I am also honored to be here." She looked at her recently befriended companions as her sweet smile returned. "You have amazing students here. If it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be standing here."

Crowler and Bonaparte were by now fully on their feet. The first thing they realized was that Morgan was clutching her shoulder. They both looked at each other with worried looks. Crowler was about to speak, but Morgan let go of Chazz's hand and held it up to silence the man.

"Don't worry about me," she stated. "You had no intention to reveal my presence to the school the way you did. Right now, though, you need to go back and help the rest of your staff settle the students." She turned to Jaden and the others and added, "You guys need to go back as well; if you're not there, it will look suspicious."

"But-" Chazz began to argue.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry, I can take care of myself." Morgan smiled. Besides-" at that moment, there was the sound of something landing on the couch and everyone turned to see Pharaoh starting to cuddle on the fine cushion. "Pharaoh will keep me company," Morgan finished.

Chazz opened his to argue again but the feeling of someone placing their hand his shoulder stopped him. He turned his head to see Jaden with a sincere smile on his face as he nodded. Chazz reluctantly sighed in defeat and looked back at Morgan.

Morgan walked closer to Chazz and surprised everyone when she gave him a warm hug. Crowler and Bonaparte's jaws dropped to the ground, Hassleberry's eyes grew wide, Syrus blinked in shock, but Jaden couldn't help but smile, for he knew more than any of his friends.

Chazz had stiffened at the sudden action, but he slowly relaxed and eventually put his arms around his secret love. They stayed like that for a few moments before Chazz let go and backed away. "Just stay hidden," he ordered.

Morgan smiled again and winked. I'll be fine; now get to class."
